What do you LIKE about this country?
|
Pies. Football. Sunday roasts. TV comedy.
That's about it for me. All the other stuff I used to like doesn't exist anymore.

Bacon, bread, cheese, proper sausages, ginsters pasties, sausage rolls, pies, I can go on.
These are either shit in the US or you can't get them.

When I come back from being abroad, I notice how green the countryside is and the twisty roads.

I love the roads to look at but for a bit they are nerve-wracking when you grew up on a pretty strict grid system and could zone out when driving (not best practice I know.) in the country.

The grass at this time of year is so green. And the frost in the morning really brings it out.

London's parks.
Museums and art galleries.
The finest looking women in the world.
Looking above the shop frontages and seeing wrought-iron and arts and crafts flourishes that have somehow dodged doer-uppers. Proper detail.
Music.
Talking bollocks about football, motorbikes, girls and generally having a laugh over a pint with your good pals.
Northern girl's accents, Welsh girl's accents, Scottish girl's accents. GRRRRRRR.
As a photographer, the light- don't think it's quite right? Wait 5 minutes and it will change. Four seasons in every hour.
The bright lights in the big city.
Fuck, what's there NOT to like - and I've not even picked anything more than a mile or so from my house!

I even like Yorkshire girls accents especially considering the one (blond) sort I have in mind from my uni days.

The weather. I like having weather.
In fact I wish all the people would who don’t like this aspect would just fuck off, as I’m sure that ridding the country of these one dimensional halfwits would benefit the country a great deal.
